Since this is the first post of my first blog it makes the most sense to discuss the title of the blog that I am writing. It is obviously a play on the word Ideologue, which means a strong advocate for an ideology, many times an idealist. So we have to then go to the word Ideology, which means the study of ideas or a system of ideas and ideals, especially one that forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy.
Ideology has become a dirty word in many years. People think that it stands for a person that blindly follows a certain political party. I want to bring the word back to its base or the root of what it has stood for for hundreds of years. We as Americans should celebrate ideology and the creativity of political thought instead of degrade it.
These days of political division and blind devotion to one party has left this country (mostly Washington) divided on nearly every issue. When did representatives of the people begin representing their party and not the ones that elected them? There must be some common sense restored, and we must be able to listen to opposing views to fine tune our own.
