Health Care Repeal Vote

As of a couple minutes ago the House just voted to repeal the health care law with 3 Democrats jumping party lines to vote for repeal.  The bill now goes to the Senate where Harry Reid says he will not bring it to the floor.  It looks like a dead end for now, but forcing Democrats to continually defend the bill could continue to weaken their resolve.

Health Care Repeal

So I'm watching the news this morning, and the Health Care Repeal is topic number one.  Two Democrats have been on saying the Republicans are wasting their time with the repeal and that the American people want them to be focused on jobs, but when the Democrats were pushing health care around Christmas of '09 the Republicans were telling the Democrats that the American people want them to be focused on jobs. Does anyone else see the irony?

China's Visit

Okay the blog wasn't going in the direction that I really wanted, but I'm back re-energized and ready to see where this new thinking takes me......
China's in town and as I watch the Chinese plane pull in and the Andrew's Air Force base staff roll out the red carpet for our largest debt holder (970 BILLION) Donald Trump is saying some pretty compelling stuff.  Check out the video from 9 months ago on Cavuto as Donald talks about the Chinese government.

Re-Launch

Okay I'm in the process of re-doing the blog, more to come soon!!

Senate Health Care Vote

The Senate today voted to end the debate on the Health Care bill after side deal after side deal in which Nebraska will never again have to pay for Medicaid even though this bill will push many people into Medicaid.  The Senate is going to have a final vote on the bill Christmas Eve as they try and rush this bill into law.

New Material

Ok, it has been a while so I want to go over a list of things that have taken place recently.

  • Leaders throughout the world are meeting in Copenhagen to discuss climate change and different policies on environmental issues.  One thing that they have been discussing is making more prominent countries, like the U.S., pay developing countries to go "green".  America would have to send payments to China and India.
  • Obama just received the Nobel Peace prize.  There has been a lot of controversy around this for many months.  He was nominated just days into office on what he "might" do in his presidency.
  • Congress voted down an amendment on health care to not allow federal money to fund abortions.  Up to now people cannot use federal money to fund abortions, but unless it explicitly says in the health care bill that money cannot be used for abortions it still leaves the door open.
  • Congress will be voting to raise the debt ceiling.  The government is spending so much money that they have to vote to raise the debt ceiling.  If this does not pass drastic cuts will have to be made and possibly for the better.
